I have been focused on my new "Tangled Emotions" community which will roll out the fourth week of February. It is for women who have been in recovery and want to experience enhanced emotional sobriety through a supportive community.
What is emotional sobriety? Emotional sobriety is something that you develop overtime to create a life that is balanced.
For those who are recovering from an addiction, whether it be alcohol, drugs, gambling, food, obsessiveness, anger, shopping, video games, or what have you, emotions are often at the center of the matter. Often it is a person's inability to regulate strong emotions. Therefore, for people in recovery, the concept of 'emotional sobriety' is a critical step in healing.
Emotional sobriety gives people a way of experiencing their feelings and, therefore, can offer more serenity and happiness.
Emotional sobriety begins when you decide your emotional health can be improved, and you are willing to do the work to contend with your feelings. Emotional sobriety is a lifelong journey; and it is always great to try different ways of enhancing your emotional sobriety.
Just a snippet of what this Tangled Emotions Community is all about:
- a supportive community of women
- a place where themes and topics will be discussed
- a creative source of inspiration - through the process of creative expression, members are able to explore their emotional life's
- a place to gain additional resources and techniques to experience consistent emotional sobriety
You might be wondering how this community is different from a traditional addictions program?
Let me be clear, this community is not a replacement for any other kind of recovery program you have been a part of - as I have mentioned before, I remain active in AA.
This community is different because it enhances your emotional sobriety, through a consistent community of support, and you will experience fun, talk, highlighted themes/topics, meaningful creative processes, laughter, and so much more.
To find out more, I invite you to "A Taste of Tangled Emotions" event. There are two options to attend and if you want to attend both sessions, that's great too!
