My Journey to My Artist Soul
I'm back into the Blog Challenge put on by Paul Taubman. I've done this a couple of times before and I find it useful to get and keep me motivated to write and share about creativity. That's my thing.
Just a tad bit of backstory. I was a teacher and then an administrator at the high school level. I worked as a special education teacher for a majority of my years. After 35 years in the education field, it was time to retire. Although, I was a bit worried about entering into this stage of life.
I had planned and worked out all the financial aspects, but I didn't think about the psychological aspect, until it began.
I was lost. I didn't know who I was, what I was, or what my purpose or passion was.
This next part is important for me to share because it started out rough, but I did find my new passion and purpose in life.
When I retired in 2013, I started drinking too much and by 2016, I was a mess. There's a lot more I could share about this time; however, it's not needed here.
On June 28, 2016, I sought out help. I put in the work and took action. I have now been sober 3,930 days and that is 10 years and 7 months. One day at a time!

Thank you for keeping me in the art loop. I am finally looking at some closure with all the things. Literally-closing on the house 4/20. I can’t wait!
Hoping to get my creative side in action again. Btw I loved what Kathy was working on with you!
